Scotia
Laminate needs to have an expansion gap, and Scotia is a decorative trim that covers the gaps between the bottom of the wall and your newly laid floor. It avoids any exposed edges, means you don’t have to remove your skirting boards and they can even be painted to match the colour of your walls, laminate or LVT.
Doorbars
You’ll probably have noticed the little gap where the flooring of two rooms connects in the doorway. Door bars are solid strips of material, usually made from metal or wood, that sit over the gap in your doorway to create a smooth transition from one room of your home to another. Available in a range of colours and finishes, they’re a great way to mask unfinished woodwork and protect the edges of your new flooring.
Incizo profiles
Incizo profile can give your floors the perfect finish. Simply cut it to shape to connect floors that are different heights, and create a seamless transition between wood and other materials such as carpet. A great alternative to adding a doorbar, it can even be used on steps and stairs. Ask in store for details.
Underlay
Underlay is a worthwhile investment, reducing noise, improving insulation and extending the life of your flooring. It forms a protective layer between damp subfloors and the surface flooring, to avoid your laminate becoming wet and warping. We can’t recommend underlay enough – if you’re not sure if you need it or not, please ask a member of our team and we’ll be able discuss the available options.
